hello all,
I don't understand how mdadm raid1 boot install works..
I went through the installation of debian 12 on 2 Sata ssds raid1 mirrored. this is for a server i'm building and i want the redundancy incase a drive craps out.
I'm using cockpit since i'm a novice as of now. both drives sync'd up.
i tested by shutting down and pulling out one drive... all booted just fine.. i was amp'd!
shut down again, pulled the other drive, and it came up with a grub message (hd0, hd0, msdos)..
i've been reading around but it's all very confusing. i was under the assumption that if it all installs as mirrored, then both drives should be exactly the same and it should just boot.. pop in a new blank drive and it should just duplicate..
what am i missing?
