Hello. So my webcam is not working.
I've tried the following software:
* cheese (the simplest.)
* vlc (lots of settings available.)
* guvcview (I'm concentrating on this tool now, it seems to be the best for basic troubleshooting).
I have exactly the same symptoms with all of them: launching one of them immediately turns on the camera (blue led on), but then a black screen appears and persists.
I've tried every usb port (2 are 2.0 and 2 are 3.0, same problem everywhere, and all ports work fine with others usb devices.
I did a few “sensible” tests: lower the fps, lower the resolution, changed the codec, etc. Nothing worked.
Reading the various results you can see below, I've come to the conclusion that this webcam is perfectly recognized by the system, and this is a pure configuration problem. Chance is 99.9999 % that the hardware is not broken (although I don't have a Windows PC around me to prove it).
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated (a step-by-step procedure), I've spent a lot of time struggling with this device and it's driving me crazy.
