Realtek wifi doesnt work

Usually wifi works out of the box when installing debian, but when I got this new HP laptop I had to use usb tethering because there was no wifi during the installation. And would only come up as lo when I use .
So I started to search drivers or any solutions and I came across a fourm post telling someone to install firmware-realtek but that didn't help.
So then i kept looking and came across another thread about someone with the same problem that I have. They had the same Realtek b851 network controller so it was probably the same drivers I needed.

So I downloaded and installed this driver using DKMS https://github.com/RinCat/RTL88x2BU-Linux-Driver.
But still after rebooting nothing happened and I still had to use wifi from my phone. So I then just searched Realtek b851 drivers and came across new drivers.

I followed all of the instructions but nothing changed.
I feel like im going in circles and I have no idea what im doing at this point. I might have to reinstall Windows since wifi worked without a problem there, and usb tethering is taking a toll on my battery.
