Debian-based wattOS (which I really like and am now running) has a forum hosted by Discord. Discord - which hosts the forum - demands a phone number. Apparently an e-mail address is not enough. Hell really will freeze over before I give my phone number to an unknown internet company.
Around the web I have read dozens of complaints about Discord (which I believe is a gaming-related portal)... much of it about a new demand for a phone number... people being locked out of their accounts because they refuse to give their number etc. I have e-mailed the wattOS dev very politely, but silence so far.
It's very unfortunate that the developer has chosen to use Discord - there must be some more user-friendly way of doing it.
