The device:
Linux debian 6.1.0-23-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.99-1 (2024-07-15) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Code:

*-usb:2 description: Video product: Integrated Camera: Integrated C vendor: SunplusIT Inc physical id: 8 bus info: usb@1:8 logical name: input11 logical name: /dev/input/event9 version: 0.10 capabilities: usb-2.00 usb configuration: driver=uvcvideo maxpower=500mA speed=480Mbit/s
I am running GNOME and when starting Cheese, it says "There was an error playing from the webcam" I tried running it using sudo, which I will probably be sorry doing, but it opened the web cam without issue. Huh? Help me out here, I am about ready to sacrifice a chicken to the Gods to figure it out. I can use the camera with the web browser too, but not with Cheese. Why won't Cheese work? I deleted Cheese, also, using the Software app and then installed it via apt and it does the same thing. Any thoughts Debianworld?
