I am running Debian with the latest kernel 6.1.0.21 and XFCE and I recently had an issue in which my keyboard indicator light for blocking recording did not work. The indicator normally lights up on the keyboard illustrating that the microphone is blocked.

However in trying to work out the problem I did a shutdown instead of a usual restart and the problem was some how corrected. I noticed this same behavior on another workstation when I was running Pulseaudio bluetooth instead of the current Pipewire where a shut down would correct the issue.
What does the Shutdown perform that could correct a operation issue?
