New to Debian with some questions

Hello all, I'm a long time Linux user via Ubuntu/Xubuntu, Linux Mint, and now Debian. I really like Debian and installed 12.5(XFCE) on separate root and /home partitions with no problem. The only issue I currently have is that the login screen does not display my username. If I manually lock the screen it does work. But on booting up and waking up from suspend it does not. If this is for security reasons then fine; however if the username is supposed to display is there a way to fix it?

Also, this may be a stupid question but please bear with me. I still have another machine using Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE. Can I migrate the desktop from Debian to LM by simply replacing LM's ~/.config/XFCE4 directory with the one in my Debian install and still use LM for awhile with my installed XFCE desktop?
